In response to your needs, we offer a range of services, programs and activities for all ages. These services include a variety of community events and activations.
COMMUNITY EVENTS
Love Rally: Community impact events are apart of our anti-gun violence initiative, which we partner with a local community center to promote our college access opportunity with St. Francis College. Events feature guest speakers, activities, performances, presentations with food and refreshments.
My Playground. My Escape: is a multi-city event series that highlights the significant role that both playgrounds and basketball have in the lives of inner city youth. Playgrounds are considered a safe space for inner city teens, and for many, being able to play basketball in these safe spaces serves as an escape from their day-to-day hardships and struggles adjusting to teen life.
When Can Black Men Cry: Monthly mental health event that focus on the emotional support needs of black males dealing with trauma. Each event will host a panel of males ages 16 and older, sharing intimate stories, life lessons and tools for personal growth, healing and stronger ties with each other.
Green Events, Community Clean-up and Garden Stewardship:
Seasonal Community Events, Community Clean-ups and community garden educational activities. These events will promote volunteerism and pride for ones community.
Outdoor Movie Night: Summertime outdoor family movie night showing classic black cinema films. Movies are shown on a 30-foot blowup screen.
TGC x Stay Frosty Family Firearm Safety & Career Pathways Training: an introduction to safe firearms handling that focuses on safety, education, awareness, deescalation, prevention and situational awareness with firearms that outlines what to do when a child/youth comes in contact with a firearm or their friend is playing with one, how to safely resolve situations involving firearms, and finally how to safely operate a firearm when participating in the shooting sports. The shooting sports also explores opportunities for sponsorships, scholarships and also careers that requires the use of firearms ( i.e. law enforcement, executive protection, FBI, etc.)
