Restorative Justice Initiative
Black Americans have been ravished by socio-economic injustices since the formation of this nation. The results of these injustices have positioned many of these communities below the poverty line, living in disenfranchised environments. The lack of opportunities in these areas have created communities plagued with gun violence and heavy handed policing.
The Green Campaign’s Guns For Grants program is revolutionizing a new way to cease fire in these communities through our restorative justice initiative. Partnering with Academic Institutional like St. Francis College and Trade Schools, We offers grants and mentorship for any individual (16-24) who submits in an illegal firearm or are recommended through New York City’s Court diversion opportunities.
Our G4G program also provides culturally relevant workshops and robust programming to prepare our participants for higher education as well as life after graduation. Participants who enter this program will be paired with a mentor, attend a workshop series and meet their admissions counselor to be registered for a Fall semester within a 2-4 year window. Once enrolled it is the participants responsibility attend classes.
This initiative is supported by Mayor Eric Adams “Blueprint To End Gun Violence” with NY State Law “Gun BuyBack” amnesty protections.
